    There is too much risk.

    What risks?
Before such risky attempts, it is sufficient to first read the contents of the memory with the help of some programmer (e.g. CH341A) and get to work.

    .
That's the risk - I don't have a programmer, and it's not worth buying for stock.
I think buying a new tuner is more worthwhile. It's not the BIOS, where the old boards had ones that allowed backup before upgrading.

    Still try emailing: serwis(_at_)wiwa.info.pl
and there describe everything, what kind of hardware you have and if it is possible to give this latest software including.
And at the service centre, what they say about it, or call:
    WIWA SERVICE
    1 Taśmowa St.
    02-677 Warsaw
Service open Monday to Friday from: 8.30-15.30
    Phone: 22 654 76 66, 22 654 77 45

He who asks, does not wander. Best regards

Thanks for the info - didn't think they could give an answer.
I think I can install, only problem is because I can usually do it at the weekend and the tuner is needed then :) .

Try writing there, maybe they will write back, give everything, just exactly the model, those SW, HW, even the serial number of the device and ask what can be given there and what is the latest, correct software for it and just whether it can be given. And after the answer from them try it. They should know that best.

Problem with serial numbers - I only have pictures of the HW and SW versions. I haven't thought about the serials, but I'll try to send some as well.
I once had the same with a SHARP TV - Polish service not responsible, but service for Europe did not recommend combining. The TV is 10 years old and there is no newer software.

But the UU can make a difference unless there is a similar if not identical motherboard in it with the processor then it will cog.
Model the same, but just HW different and it may not go, because technology and chipsets also change with the years going forward and to newer ones, so this newer software version on an older model may not work as I wrote. [...]
    .

If the model is the same (and not something like 265 and 265 NEW) then the soft should be the same too. Otherwise the service department would be swamped with stuck equipment. And the specifications wouldn't match. The risk is of course always there, but we are not talking about 1000 zlotys ;) Here you have in the file name U and in the description that for the UU version:

In case of release there is still the option of forceupgrade. Assess the risks for yourselves ;) .

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the WIWA H265 tuner, specifically issues related to software updates via USB and network connectivity. The user seeks assistance in finding a software update for their tuner, which is currently running SW Version V5.1.0.93. Several users suggest that updates can be obtained from the internet or through USB, but the original poster faces challenges with network settings and USB recognition. It is noted that the tuner lacks an RJ45 port, limiting direct network connections. Users recommend checking for updates on unofficial sites, although caution is advised due to potential risks of using unsupported software. The latest original software mentioned is v5.2.1.56, but users report mixed success with updates, including issues with invalid software messages and the need for proper formatting of USB drives. The conversation also touches on the importance of stable signal quality and potential hardware issues affecting performance.
