I came across a ME86H thermostat, confusingly similar to the BHT-002 but with a chip as in the subject line.

I've read a couple of posts related to this invention and wanted to ask if there are plans to look into flashing it?
I was also thinking of replacing it with a CB3S that I have in stock, I'm just concerned about the single pin handling.
On the WBR3, pin A17 (GPIOA_17, hardware PWM, IC Pin 38) is connected to transistor Y1, and on the CB3S this pin is CSN and is described like this:
"Production test control pin. If it is used as a common I/O pin, it must be connected to the VCC externally. Do not connect it to the ground before the module is powered on."9c454bb32 .
So I'm not sure about the compatibility of these two pins.
The rest of it looks OK.
I plan to eavesdrop on the module's communication with the MCU at my leisure, I suspect it will be similar to this topic:
