Recently, while updating the firmware on one of the Access Point devices from Mikrotik, I saw two interesting packages:

    lora-7.15.3-mipsbe.npk
    iot-7.15.3-mipsbe.npk

Does this mean that devices from MT have some direct support / can do as gateways for IoT ?

I don't see Zigbee, but there is something with MQTT and Modbus.

It would be possible to use this to talk to the electricity meter from Tauron (the one talking over modbus) ?

Something can be worked out there, I use an old rb133 microtik that does the AP in the basement as an ip tcp -> rs232 gateway with modbus to the deye inverter.
