    Hi.
I just bought some smart plugs.
I want to run a local server and not be connected to the cloud.

I just reflashed my first TuyaCBU smart plug with OpenBK and have some questions:

    1) Can I clone (backup/restore) the actual well configured smart plug using uart flasher? Can I put my backup from backups in firmwares and flash?

    2) Is it possible to set up automatic OTA updates? I will in the future set an internal server and have the ability to automagically update all my devices just putting a new firmware in my server.

    Thanks

    Welcome to forum!
    1. You can always do full 2MB backup and restore it with flasher. You do not need to copy the files. If you open advanced options, there is checkbox for "allow backup restore".
You can also just download config partition from the Web App, without UART connection.
    2. Due to the Github dropping off the HTTP support, we don't have the option to do it anymore. It would require building OBK with HTTPS support, which would use more flash. Futhermore, I don't think that you really need frequent OTA updates... OpenBeken, just like Tasmota, is done under assumption that you have all your converted IoT devices behind your NAT, preferrably on separate network, so there is no 0day threats... it should work good from the start, I wouldn't worry about that.

So I can directly flash with my backup? Over the original firmware?

I haven't problems with http. All my servers are in my house. And... I really need to do frequent OTA updates, because I want to build totally customized house. I cannot do manual firmware upgrade manually on all my devices on every mod I want to test.

Wait a second, you want to flash 2MB backup over another device?
This is NOT recommended, because 2MB backup contains RF calibration.
If you want to quickly configure many devices, then just use OBK templates... or just flash OBK config binary only, not full 2MB.

I have a lot of smartplugs.

I want to prepare one "image" that contains OpenBK already configured for my WiFi network, for my MQTT server etc...

Because I don't want for every smartplug to do these repetitive tasks.

All my smartplugs are the same model from Tongou.
I actually flashed and configured just the first smartplug.
All other smartplugs are waiting in the box. (with the original firmware)
