I tried successfully to control a RGBIC device that was flashed with openbeken by xlights using the network protocol DDP. By this several effects can easily be programmed over the network.

What I have not tested yet is if and how xlights can be driven by the beat of my music....

LSC Smart Digital LED Strip 2x5m, part no. 3008407 from Action but any other device with programmable LEDs (for example with SM16703P Chips) flashed with OpenBeken should work.
AI: Have you tried any specific methods or tools to integrate music beats with xLights, or do you have a particular setup in mind?
No, I have not tried it yet with xlights, but I have a similar setup running with qlcplus, where DMX-controlled lights are driven by the beat of music. So I hope it will work with xlights as well.
