    Good morning,

I have home automation devices, including a 'smart' socket, which I can control remotely.
I would like to transfer the remote control capability to other devices e.g. gate, roller shutter remote etc.... These devices respond when the circuit is closed.

The socket is of course connected to 230V, therefore I need a relay if I have read correctly.
I came up with the idea of using a relay such as this:

    ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAY 16A 230V F&F PK-1P
(on allegro offer no. :6842090267) because I can't upload the link (I've attached a photo)

where to contacts 1 and 3 I will connect L,N from a "smart" socket (order does not matter?) ,
while to pins 11 and 12 I will connect another device.

    I have the following questions:
    1) If I understand correctly contacts 11 and 12 are independent of 1 and 3 and there the voltage can be different ? There is no danger of burning the device
    2) Is the solution I proposed correct to achieve the goal: control of the gate or control of the roller shutter remote control (that is, it would be a simulation of pressing a button), or could I also apply it to any other device that reacts to the closing of a circuit, even a toy with a battery that switches on to a button that closes the circuit ?
    3) Is the relay I have proposed suitable, or would another one be advisable, if another one, I would very much appreciate it if you could indicate specifically another one with a suggestion of use

Alternatively, please give me any other comments, warnings or suggestions.

    Thank you for your help

There are such ready-made switches. Smart switches. You don't need to power a relay from the socket. Power the switch and on the output you have contacts .

But I would like it to be compatible with the rest of the "system", so I need to use this particular socket.
Besides, such smart switches, from what I've seen, just transfer from the input to the 230V output, which means they won't be suitable for my problem, unless I somehow reduce the voltage at the output. In this case, it seems to me that my solution is simpler.

Thank you bumble for your reply. You gave the example of sonoff and I have a xiaomi gateway. It seems to me that there is no simple integration, and even if there is some possibility it seems to me the way I suggested will be simpler.

I just need the opinion of someone more proficient in electrics as to whether the solution I proposed is correct

The smart socket powers a 230v coil relay. Through the contacts you start another device. You can use them for a parallel connection to a push button or add a power supply and control something with a lower voltage, e.g. 12V.
It is not the company that matters, but the principle. You can achieve the same thing with one device.

    Thank you for your help,

So I understand that the electromagnetic relay I indicated will be suitable:
I directly connect the phase and zero from the 230v socket to it and control any circuit on the output (I do not need any additional device). Is this correct?

I know there are other types of relays e.g. bistable but I don't know how they differ.... there are also different amperages given 16A, 5A.... etc..

Yes, it will work. You can feed 230 from the smart socket on one side and the otherabster instead of the button.

    .
Often, however, this circuit only needs to be closed for a specific period of time. In this situation, a time relay will be useful.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the use of the F&F PK-1P electromagnetic relay for remote control of domestic appliances, specifically for integrating with existing home automation systems. The user seeks to control devices like gates and roller shutters using a smart socket connected to 230V. Key points include the relay's capability to operate independently with different voltages on its contacts, the suitability of the proposed solution, and the potential for using a time relay for circuits requiring temporary closure. Participants emphasize the importance of compatibility with existing systems and the functionality of the relay in controlling various devices.
