How long does the package from China take to Poland?
On the Chinese market, you can find interesting electronic components at a favorable price (even after taking into account shipping costs), many people wonder how long it will take to wait for the shipment.
We asked several Chinese companies when their shipments reach Poland.
Low-cost airmail delivers shipments an average of 10-16 days (range 7-30 days).
In the case of DHL or Fedex, shipments arrive on average within 5 days (range 3-7 days).
Companies often have a choice of different postal operators, e.g. China post, Hongkong post, Singapore post. The transport time also depends on the period of the year in which we order the goods and many indirect factors such as the number of orders, customs procedures. Some suppliers' shipments have to travel within China (2-3 days) before they reach their destination in Poland.
The times given above are averaging and work well in most cases,
however, there are rarely situations in which a package can travel almost a month or even 40-50 days to reach Europe.
Should such a situation be feared? You don't just need to be aware that sometimes a package will arrive after a month instead of a week or two.
Will we be able to check where the package is currently?
Yes. In most cases, we will receive a link to the system in which, after entering the tracking number, we can check what is happening with our package.
The package in the Chinese system will usually be visible 2-3 days after the order has been processed.
Usually the first stage will be the status: Received from Customer, or Collection
that is, our package has been accepted for shipment.
The next stage after a few days will be the state: Despatched to overseas
that is, our package set off on a journey to Poland.
Then, after a few or a dozen or so days, the status will appear: Arrived at overseas
that is, our package is already in Poland.
We will have to wait a few more days for the Product Delivered condition,
first, the shipment will be placed under the customs procedure and the goods contained in the package will be released for free circulation, then the package will travel around Poland.
Initially, we will be able to track the shipment in the Chinese system, e.g. www.singpost.com or www.17track.net/en/, then the shipment may also be visible in the Polish system, e.g. www.poczta-polska.pl.
Initially, in Poland, the parcel will move along the WER _nazwa_miasta_ (Forwarding and Distribution Junction), then it can move through the UP (Post Offices) to reach our door.
What is worth paying attention to when receiving electronics from China.
Payments: most often they are made using the paypal service.
Address: it is worth entering the name of the street and city without Polish characters, if you live in a block of flats and the system does not accept the "/" sign, you can enter "m" between the block and the apartment number, eg 5m10 instead of 5/10.
Contact: it is important to provide a mobile phone number in the correct format + 48XXXXXXXXX to enable contact to a person who has doubts about our shipment. Let us provide the e-mail and telephone number we use, thanks to which we will not miss any information.
Additional fees.
Usually, when ordering a small amount of cheap components by a hobbyist, a package will cost as much as the value of the goods and transport costs, but with a higher value of the order, additional costs may appear.
Below is the information that was found on the web.
Additional fees may be charged in accordance with applicable rules,
which often change, therefore the following information should be treated as a guide and all charges related to the shipment should be determined on your own.
If the value of the shipment does not exceed EUR 10, exemption from value added tax (VAT) and customs duty may be applied for mail order sales.
Occasionally you can get free samples of products, for such items VAT may not be charged up to a value of 22 EUR.
If we receive a gift from a private friend, VAT may not be charged for the value of the goods up to 45 EUR.
If the value of a shipment from an online store to an individual does not exceed EUR 150 but exceeds EUR 10, an exemption from customs duty may be applied, but VAT will be charged.
For some goods, the duty is 0%.
The duty is calculated on the customs value of the goods (value on the invoice + costs related to the import of the goods to the EU border, i.e. transport costs, insurance, packaging, etc.).
VAT is charged on the customs value plus customs duty.
In the case of courier companies, a fee may be charged for customs clearance performed in their scope.
