Even if Krzysio bought tiles in PL, he would not pay more than PLN 40 for one piece. I don't know how much he counts for making a tile at home, but probably not much less. If it were to raise the price by PLN 20, it would not have a negative impact on the interest.

Hehe - let's not talk about corruption systems. But in short - I usually have to pay for the shipment (whether from PL, Ch, or also from the UK), so for me it is the best option so far.

This is not a corporate system ... the company does not go like this, and sometimes it is a hobby - I also do not want to strain the knowledge :) Here, more like I need something for RF. (microwave) Rogers laminate, etc., there will always be some scraps at a friend's place :)

However, when it comes to shipping costs, it is only in PL the most expensive is usually PLN 20, and usually the company has a contract with the forwarder and it comes out at the level of PLN 12-15 ... as I wrote when ordering a few plates for the prototype, it has a meaning. In production, it is known to calculate differently.

We deviated greatly from the topic, and the author of the thread wrote about the prices of PCB companies, so I also skip forwarding.

Here you also have to take into account the mentioned Everdrive product - which, by the way, is not much more expensive (about $ 120) - but it is made on a professional PCB and has more mappers ...

But apart from this, as I mentioned, if this card was on a professional PCB, I would buy it from the hand - but more on the basis of supporting the author, because otherwise I would buy Everdrive (as we oscillate in amounts above PLN 300).

But the tiles are expensive then and they last a long time :)

The day before yesterday I ordered 3x10 prototype boards for 1 dm2 and the price with delivery was $ 40. I have the plates on Friday.

This is a choice - either price or speed :) Here we continue to focus on the price (the author claims it is expensive). I also sometimes make a lot of plates a month and I quit shipping for the above-mentioned reasons - because I would spend a fortune on it. It is enough that already for elements etc. in PL and sometimes there is a good cash from the west ... ... and apart from the hobby, there is also something like life and related expenses ...

$ 40/30 tiles shipping is it expensive? I am asking for a cheaper source because I did not find it :)

I am not saying that it is expensive ... my friend probably does not understand something. In the previous month, I spent 3,000 zlotys on a hobby ... if I ordered a forwarding, everything would be 5,000 zlotys. zl ... sometimes you compromise ... something like that ... if a friend wants to, he can always order a forwarding, I sometimes calculate expenses because not only a hobby man lives ... and a bottle with a friend will drink and what does it change ...

    I don't understand:
Item cost = purchase cost + purchase costs, i.e. shipping + fees + duties + taxes etc.

The cost of the element - I did not find it cheaper - unless you have a side layout for free, but this is the exception to the exceptions.

That's life - I realized for a long time that electronics are a damn expensive hobby. Therefore, he often calculates where you can pay extra because it pays off, and where you can save sometimes ... Which does not change the fact that sometimes he spends too much on this fun. Plus, you have fun with it and you still learn something new (which also pays off in your professional life) ...

    Great design.

Immediately a man remembers the coding of graphic interrupts in asm 6510 to C = 64,
I can see that on the iconic NES there were similar tricks I did not know about :)

Undocumented commands or system functions are not new. From older processors also 6502C had undocumented instructions. The same dos or winodows had many undocumented functions ...

I don't know why they are only called illegal ;)

    that's a little different :)

My point was rather that you entered the processor and the periphery really hard :)

Not that different (though not related to the processor strikte) - keiedys writing in ASM on the PC also using undocumented functions, etc., was able to burn the program well ... The same attention was paid to pairing instructions of a given CPU, etc. The scene, but also writing some games, etc., was about squeezing the last juices out of a given platform.

There has even been speculation that M $ is doing this specifically to have an advantage over other software vendors so that their programs may run better :)

Because they are "internal" and can disappear or change the parameter list, this is something a bit different than what used to be in the old 8-bit processors. After such a change, you know the program is in the field ...

And this is not speculation ... in early windows it was like that, once there was a leak of Windows 95/98 codes, there were comments that suggested that some of the API was maintained for the sake of office and it was not public, the rest had to use GDI which was excruciatingly slow.

But still, undocumented CPU instructions are in a different league to some internal APIs. If such an API comes out somewhere and someone starts to believe it, one update solves the problem ... which cannot be done on the hardware. On the other hand, these Procki were in the 1970s and 1980s, and then the equipment, despite the fact that it was much less complicated than today, was much more difficult - no one removed it, the documentation was not used by the patient at his own risk.

    @RaStro

I still don't ;) why illegal, it was always called undocumented. Will he shut me down for using these instructions if they are illegal? On the other hand, the use of undocumented commands or functions there was always associated with the risk that it would suddenly stop working on some version of the system or hardware ...

Regarding the Windows codes, etc., these are still speculations - because these functions were available much earlier to many (you just had to sit in the topic). I know because I used - and I have been programming for PC since XT :)

Regarding procków, it is also uncertain what they contain :)

We know why this is just such a flashback. What a joy it was when you got the 20th photocopy (the one who knows what it meant in the 80s) and what was the desire for knowledge :)

To make it a photocopy ... at that time I had some documentation made on a duplicator with a handle (from many older friends from Wroclaw University of Technology) - the quality of the copy was tragic ... but you were glad that you got :)

    Hi!

First, I would like to congratulate you on the successful construction and persistence in designing and assembling. I have also been thinking about building such a card for some time and I had similar assumptions to make a cheaper Everdrive / PowerPak equivalent. Are you going to maybe provide the source firmware / vhdl / schematics?

I still have technical questions about booting the console: where do you keep the boot loader and how is it fed to the CPU while PRG-flash is still empty? How long is it time to prepare the PRG after powering up the console? Does the CPU freeze and only reset if the data bus is Hi-Z?

Base of gilding, but it is still much better than this naked man under the iron suitable for a prototype and not for sale.

This tile looks very good. The visual effect is slightly spoiled by not washing the plate with the flux.
Hardened gold for the edge connector is up to PLN 10 more on the board, so it's worth considering.

Hello, Mr. Krzysztof, about a year ago I bought from Mr. KrzysioCart (red) for PLN 330, Probably the first person at your place, because the day after the video you posted on YouTube, I can not wait for your answer regarding the update and fixing the error to this day on the menu, your last contact was last June.

I bought from you because I saw a guy who is trying to do something and for this Pole, it would be nice if there was some contact with you, page, fb where you would write about the progress in developing the project, because as someone wrote above, it is not possible to do so in 100% treat KrzysioCarta 100% as a finished product, which does not change the fact that despite the year of its possession, it still works like three without the problems mentioned above.

    * I was unable to repeat the error in displaying directories you described. Perhaps the latest versions of Windows create directory entries in a less standard way. A cross-sectoral copy of such a card for analysis would solve the problem, alternatively you can try to format the card in the FAT16 system and check if the problem also occurs.

    * I have been getting some single cases describing some titles not working. Usually, however, the problem was due to the game and the incorrect regional version of the ROMU - on the Pegasus console, titles released for the European market (E) may not work properly. It is worth checking the game first on the emulator, in Dendy mode). Some of the games may refer to non-existent memory banks or overwrite memory - then the game needs to be modified.

    * Since its release, no significant update has come out (in fact, the only thing I added is the ability to play the last selected game much faster by pressing the SELECT button)

    * The card was never intended to offer support for other mappers or save game add-ons

    * In case of any problems or questions, you can write to me at the address in the first post, I always reply to each person. For those who decide to buy, I even offer a free conversion of Chinese playstation-like consoles so that the cartridge works with them

Topic summary

The KrzysioCart MicroSD is a newly developed cartridge for the Pegasus console, designed to support approximately 82% of NES/Famicom games. It utilizes various mappers, including MMC1, MMC3, and NROM, among others. Users have praised the craftsmanship and functionality of the cartridge, while also raising concerns about its commercial viability compared to existing products like the Nintendo mini-NES. Discussions included technical aspects such as PCB design, soldering quality, and the importance of using professional manufacturing processes. Some users expressed interest in the potential for future updates and additional mapper support, while others highlighted the need for better customer communication and product reliability.
