    Are you talking about something like that? https://epstryk.pl/product-pol-46846-Przekaznik-pr Prioretowy-z-kanalem-przelotowym-nastawa-2-15A-styk-1Z-Imax-16A-1-modul-PR-613-FF-uniw. html? gclid = Cj0KCQiAqdP9BRDVARIsAGSZ8AkrGb1lgATobkaOgXeUOnoyxlUC16uhF8vkDzxBFLkZUBxYHu6UV9saAvuJEALw_wcB
    A good solution if the object to be switched is close to the power line of the inverter.
    I have an inverter power supply from another building and a heater in the house. I would have to lead an additional cable, or look for a wireless solution with a range of about 40m.

    Have any of you worked out where to read such a parameter as reactive power? or power factor? while the inverter is running.
    For example, Fronius makes it possible to read applications

    These are quite important parameters and it is worth knowing what they look like because sooner or later we can start paying for reactive energy (hopefully not), especially capacitive energy - the inverter produces a lot of it.

    I guess you mean "present at your place"? Because currently the current version is probably V2.30

    Reactive power can be read on an ongoing basis via RS485 using the Modbus protocol:

    And the power factor can probably be calculated from the formula?

    In the inverter manual you can see that the power factor has an adjustment range. the only question is whether this regulation takes place automatically? the current value can be viewed in the info => power Factor system

    Can someone give what the settings from 15-19 mean?
    19- it seems to set the power factor.

    I am sending an interesting link to illustrate what is going on with reactive power and power coefficient https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4dmc5S_f-Q

    EDIT:
    I have just checked and under item 19 "power ratio" there are 3 submenus: under excitation, power factor, over excitation.
    So there is something to play in case of need.
    For now, I leave it as it was at the factory - that is, the coefficient is set to 1.00

    I also tested the MPPT scan settings (off by default), for testing I set it on with a time of 1 minute, covered one PV panel with a sheet of cardboard and observed the reaction speed and yield drops. I can say that I did not notice any difference in favor of the MPPT scanning enabled.

    Hello colleagues. I have been producing on Sofera 8.8 for a week. I am confused about 3-phase production. Solarman shows me the voltages and currents on each phase. I only have power in one phase. What is going on?

    It has always been like this and there are probably some deficiencies in the software, note that this power on R is total after AC

    I noticed, although I had doubts. Looking at the graphs it looks like I was giving power on one phase. Can the production and consumption of individual phases be checked in the OTUS 3 meter? If not, are there any ways to control it?

    You can check the position on the counter, if I'm not mistaken, 2.8.0, production.

    It only agrees that 2.8.0 is total energy or the sum of the three phases.

    According to the OBIS codes, it would be possible to view the power on individual phases, as long as it was programmed and available, and there is certainly a preview of the current on each of the phases, at least this is the case with the MT 382 meter

    How to change the frequency of sending data? The factory is every 5 minutes. Can you change to every 2 minutes?

    I found information that I need to write an e-mail to customerservice(_at_)solarmanpv.com with the logger's serial number and they will change it.

    Write it - we'll see if it's true.

    Does anyone download data from the inverter. Sofar Solar 3.6KTLM-G2 grid inverter, or Sofar Solar 2700 TL via rs485, Do you need to change any settings in the inverter to establish a connection.
    I have a 9600 baud rate converter connected and there is a connection icon on the inverter display, SOFAR 8kW PV Installation: Opinions, Durability, Failures & Experiences with Inverters but no data is downloaded from the inverter.

    Hello
    I have a 7kw inverter SOFAR 8.8 installation now it will be 9.8kw, or after adding the panels, something needs to be changed in the inverter settings there were two strings of 10 panels now there will be two of 14.LR4-60HPB 350 longi solar panels,
    best regards

    You do not change anything in the inverter, change the installed power to the current one in the solarman and the modernization report to the OSD

    Thank you for your answer, the change in the application is to count if it is only to be changed preventively

    It does not send anything by itself, you have to ask the MODBUS protocol. You only need to know the unit number, which should be = 1

    I'm trying on the basis of this, a colleague is using sofara 8.8 and it works for him.

    It comes down to the same .. made a Modbus Wifi bridge. It may not work for you due to different register addresses of the inverter. You need to adjust the program for your inverter.
    Enter the appropriate values for:
    Serial.write (1);
    Serial.write (3);
    Serial.write (0);
    Serial.write (12);
    Serial.write (0);
    Serial.write (1);
    // CRC
    Serial.write (68);
    Serial.write (9);

    I am sending to my thread https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3698233.html
    there you will find addressing info.
    I noticed that there are two ways to address, and maybe you have the latter :)

    ..ps I took a moment and it looks like it's rather good.
    Maybe you have a problem on the RS side (e.g. wires swapped)?
    The mentioned projet is as I wrote modbys:

    Serial.write (1); - no. driver
    Serial.write (3); - function number 3
    Serial.write (0);
    Serial.write (12); - register address 12- 0x000C that is "power"
    Serial.write (0);
    Serial.write (1); - one register
    // CRC
    Serial.write (68); - checksum
    Serial.write (9);

    This program that you linked is not what you see in the photo - are you mixing something?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around user experiences with Sofar inverters, particularly the 8kW models, focusing on their performance, durability, and issues encountered. Users report generally positive experiences with Sofar inverters, noting their affordability and efficiency. However, some have faced connectivity issues, error messages related to input voltage, and concerns about the inverter's ability to handle high panel voltages, especially in cold weather. Recommendations include ensuring proper installation, monitoring voltage levels, and considering the inverter's specifications when connecting multiple panels. Users also discuss the importance of firmware updates and the potential for oversizing panels relative to the inverter capacity.
